Businesses Supporting Jews in the Military

As soon as I had the idea for this project I thought of Dashka Roth, the owner of a Judaica and jewelry store in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

I first met Dashka when my husband, Yael and I visited her shop in October 2007.  We were in New Orleans for the first time doing research for Yael’s middle grade book series that takes place after Hurricane Katrina.

Dashka had her own hurricane story (you can read her Hurricane Katrina story), and she also had some of the loveliest Judaica I’ve ever seen.

Here are two of the artist-crafted pieces she carries:

Wedding Mezuzzah by Gary Rosenthal Small Chanukah dreidel by Gary Rosenthal

And here’s the Dashka Roth website with more Judaica pieces.

DASHKA ROTH IS OFFERING 10% DISCOUNT TO JEWS IN THE MLITARY

I thought of Dashka first as a company that might be willing to give a discount to Jews in the military (or non-Jews in the military buying Judaica gifts).  I emailed my “crazy” idea and here’s what she replied:

I have never given discounts before but I think this one is worth doing. This is the kind of project I love, a win-win situation.

And Dashka Roth became the first company on this site to offer a discount to Jews in the military.

Check out her beautiful online store (I’ve bought several gifts from her) and then email her at military@dashkaroth.com with your branch and rank (or your spouse’s branch and rank) to get the discount promo code for your use.

And when you’re enjoying using a beautiful Judaica item from Dashka Roth, remember that she appreciates your military service.

P.S.  And if you’re a company that would also like to give a discount to Jews in the military, email me at discounts@operationsupportjewsinthemilitary.com
